My Thoughts

I bought this on a sort of an impulse. I was feeling a bit under the weather, so while shopping for food, I just picked it up while passing the aisle....i guess the pretty packaging spoke to me! My boyfriend was with me and even he thought it was a pretty good buy, so i thought, "What the heck, why not?". I know its easy to just make my own scrub, but i figured this would be more convenient...seeing how i was running low on supplies at that time.

When we got it home, I placed it by the shower and sort of forgot about it (lol, major impulse buy) but my boyfriend almost raced into the bathroom to use it. lol, Ok, that's probably an exaggeration but he did used it the same night...and he was its first and only user for the first week. I wasn't avoiding it or anything, I was just feeling crappy and didn't even want to think about standing in the shower and using all my precious energy to do a super scrub on myself.

But anyhow, my boyfriend LOVES this stuff. Well actually he'd love any scrub and this just happens to be the first he's used. He keeps talking about how soft his skin is and how he can tell he's getting exfoliated. He career is a mix of construction and graduate school, so his hands can get pretty dry. He used this about every 2-3 days and you can tell, he's a new man, lol. As per my instructions, he rinses his hands with hot/very warm water then dabs on a bit. Then, I told him to really massage and push it into his skin/knuckles for about five minutes or however long he wants to spend doing it. Then to rinse and pat dry. He did confess to using it "all over his body" (lol) so i guess he really does love it.

As for me, i like it ok! I think it very effective to have sugar as well as ground almonds. As far as texture, its definite a bit oily but it does rinse away clean. The sugars are nice and hard, which is important! I've seen scrubs where the sugars have dissolved! The smell is nice, a bit strong to some maybe, but the honey almond scent is one of my all time favorites, so i like it. The scent does linger on your skin a bit after rinsing, but its very light compare to full on sniffing the jar. I personally prefer salt scrubs though, because of the detoxing effect.

As far as it's claims, it has definitely smoothed and softened my skin, but honestly most scrubs do that, so that fact alone isn't enough to make me repurchase. The price seems resonable though and i'm always in walmart, so it's easy to access. I do usually prefer to make my own scrubs, but if i didn't i would definite buy this one more often, esp. since Charles likes it so much.

Have you used this? What did you think? Any questions, just post them in the comments.
